Position Description:
The support specialist provides sales support by assisting with sales-related problems, tracking orders, investigating shipping issues, and managing customer accounts. They also enter and track data in sales databases.
Knowledge/Skill and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.Dedication to customer satisfaction.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient in computer software systems including MS Office and MS Excel.Oracle experience preferred.Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize.Able to quickly adapt to changing work environments, systems, and processes.
Essential Duties:
Communicate daily with customers and Sales Representatives regarding information about products, terms, price quotes, deliveries, and order status.Handle and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner. Initiate customer credit claims process.Inform sales agents of transactions within their territory.Process customer orders, returns, and exchanges.Trace and expedite orders.Verify accuracy on item numbers and quantities, special discounts, prices, payment terms, shipping information, and special handling.Communicate any order entry problems to customers, supervisors, and managers.Enter order cancellations.Suggest substitutes for out-of-stock items. Issues credits and authorizes return of merchandise.Capable of cross training their co-workers as well as being cross trained to act as a backup and provide coverage for co-workers in the department. Performs other duties as assigned. These may include tasks usually performed by others in the department when workload or absences occur, and Supervisor directs.Observe and practice all safety and good housekeeping rules and regulations of Eagle Claw, such as keeping the office and all office furniture, equipment supplies, and other materials neat and safe, so the office is functional and efficient.
Physical Environment and Working Conditions:
Able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. when moving catalogs or preparing small shipments or performing similar duties.Must be able to stand, stoop, reach, and bend when asked to work at tradeshows.Able to understand and communicate effectively via telephone, email, and fax.Must be able to work and remain focused in an open office environment where phone and business conversations are a part of the environment.Must be able to sit at a PC and phone for 90% of a 10-hour workday.Able to see, hear and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office equipment.
