Position
The Sales Manager within Mechanical Solutions achieves/exceeds sales objectives through the growth/development of a team of sales personnel and will drive profitability by creating/implementing targeted sales strategies/supporting sales personnel.

Ensure the quality, accuracy, consistency, profitability, compatibility, coordination, and timeliness of all sales, proposals (including terms/conditions), marketing, and estimating activities within the business unitLead/participate in LONG's mechanical sales/marketing efforts at professional organizations and industry trade shows. Work with marketing to development materials as neededBuild a high-performing sales team by recruiting, training, supervising, and motivating staff. Provide leadership, support, counseling, and conduct performance and salary reviews. Collaborate with other business unit managers and sales staff to align programs and sales initiativesAlign sales strategies and promotional efforts with factory sales managersDrive business unit sales and profitability by effectively supervising and supporting the sales team, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring account performance. Support staff in planning/executing sales effortsFoster a cost-conscious mindset within the sales teamAssign accounts and establish monthly/annual sales quotas for team membersPlan/support customer training and sales seminars, such as lunch & learns and technical meetingsIdentify/pursue opportunities in vertical markets and national accountsMaintain strong relationships with manufacturers, customers, vendors, and suppliers with consistent/proactive communicationDevelop the annual sales budget for the business unit by each DecemberAdminister commission distribution fairly and consistently Conduct ongoing forecasting to anticipate the needs of manufacturers, internal personnel, and emerging market opportunitiesResolve customer and sales disputes constructively, coordinating with operations and relevant teams to ensure LONG is fairly compensated for its workSupport sales reps and accounts receivable staff in managing collections/sensitive account issuesEngage LONG management in bids or opportunities that involve significant or unusual risksOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
4-year business or engineering degree and 5 years related work experience (OR) 2-year associate degree and 7 years sales experience (OR) 2-year associate degree, 4 years sales experience and 3 years related sales management experienceAbility to travel to and inspect job sites/visit customer locationsExtensive knowledge of HVAC products, mechanical/control systemsExtensive knowledge of installation practices/project estimatingExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, complemented by strong customer service abilities/proficient computer skillsStrong multitasking skillsStrong sense of responsibility and accountabilityDetail-oriented
Physical Requirements
This role may involve standing for extended periods/working in tight spacesThis role may require lifting to 75 lbs. from floor to countertop/countertop to floorThis role may require climbing ladders/ability to function at heights
