SUMMARY
Work with Regional Managers within the Sales team to understand the needs, demands, and directions for the Independent Distribution Channel. Establish and implement a national strategy for this channel that is focused on demand creation and sales growth across all Wilsonart products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Revenue Growth and Profitability
Develop action plan to drive annual revenue growth across the channel in all Wilsonart products Manage cost and generate operational improvements and efficiencies that will increase profitabilityDemand Creation:
Drive pipeline growth with specification rep team within the regional warehouse and independent distributor reps Drive team to uncover new buying and specifying accounts within all regions/distributors Leverage CRM across the organization to improve sales and specification team effectivenessFormulate and Implement a Strategy for the ID Channel that will include:
Trends and directions within the independent distribution channel to support growth Products/Processes required, or desired by the channel Analysis of the suitability of the channel for Wilsonart plans and requirements Annual tactics that will ensure success Communicate with the ID Channel with regard to:
Wilsonart strategies, tactics, policies New Product/Design launch strategy, content and timing Product strategiesDirect activities with regard to pricing in the ID channel, including:
Ensure that all pricing is consistent, fair, legal, and competitive within the channel Oversee the distribution pricing matrix, and the negotiated account process Develop and implement promotions as required by market conditions• Formulate annual sales forecast and lead team to develop targets for the Independent Distribution partners and confirm business plan alignment and agreement with each distributor
• Maintain current Distribution Agreements and drive consistent processes and enforcement across all distributors
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in Marketing or Business Administration or a closely related field, One additional year of experience may substitute for one year of the required education with a maximum substitution of four years.
EXPERIENCE
• 5-7 years of field sales experience
• Technical Sales experience in a B2B environment of at least 2 years
• 3+ years of sales management experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
• Knowledge of products marketed.
• Knowledge of sales/marketing techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
• Ability to make sound business decisions based on analysis.
• Knowledge of sales compensation programs.
• Knowledge of program management sufficient to direct national sales effort.
• Ability to manage, lead, and motivate people.
• Ability to sell products.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Light work Tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials up to 20 pounds.
