We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Regional Sales Director role. Directs, mentors, and develops a team of Sales Representatives to expand sales at existing accounts and to prospect, identify, develop, and strategically grow the regions' business. Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions and countermeasures. Active participant in prioritizing key business opportunities that will meet / exceed budgeted revenue and margin targets.

What will you do in this role?
Working with Sales Representatives, Strategic Business Unit Team, Product Managers, and Customers to develop annual sales and margin forecasts,Effectively communicate your teams' regional financial objectives; prepare an annual budget; analyze sales revenue variances; and initiate corrective actions as neededDevelop and implement field sales action plans to facilitate the implementation of your regional sales programs and key market initiatives.Plan for the achievement of individual and your region sales teams' targets in alignment with the strategies and policies of the companyKeep current with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand and competitors to maintain sales volume and product mix.Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes and work with your team to react effectively and proactively to perform at their highest level.Effectively train and coach your team to successfully communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals.Implement sales and marketing strategies to guide and direct your sales team to attain preset profit and sales goals based on forecasts.Negotiates and approves contracts, blanket purchase orders, customer special stock agreements and material returns / credits with customers. Establish and maintain credibility with customers.Works collaboratively with other Regional Sales Managers to ensure potential and actual shifts of business across sales territories / regions is maintained by FlexconIdentifies and communicates common themes within sales / products / project successes that can be shared across region and company to insure best practices.Identifies and communicates common themes with respect to problems / process challenges that need to be addressed and corrected.Continually examine customers and their place in the market to determine revenue and margin potential. Measure effectiveness of competition at individual accounts and within the market to anticipate market changes. Appraise competitive products and recommend changes in Flexcon products and procedures to address competitive threats.Participate in management meetings to develop annual plans and initiatives (customer specific, market specific, overall Flexcon) that drive company results.Actively participant in Key Market Initiative Action Plans either as Champion, team member or as needed contributor.Active participant on the Key Opportunity prioritization team. Includes but not limited to the vetting, pricing and product development recommendation activities required to successfully drive the project.Responsible to communicate why we are or are not driving product and project success in agreed time frame and what is needed to get back on track.Monitor performance of regional sales functions and budgetary operations; anticipate and/or investigate the causes of inadequate performance, take appropriate corrective action. Provide guidance to subordinates and visit customers as required.Resolve personnel problems of subordinates; hire, train, assign, transfer, and discipline sales personnel as required; ensure compliance to all company policies, performance reviews and calculate year end settlement agreements based on performance against objectives.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
Bachelor's degree in business administration or in any related field, or relevant business experience.10+ years of experience supervising and directing people and other resources to achieve specific end results within limited timeframes.10+ years of sales experience, with a proven track record of success.General relevant product/industry knowledge.Excellent communication and follow up skills.Strong project management skills.Passionate about the voice of the customer.Mindset for continuous improvement utilizing LEAN principles and leading team through change, prior experience with lean implementation would be an asset.50% travel required.
