Job Summary
The Territory Sales Representative prospects, qualifies, and closes new customers by selling propane solutions within a specific geographic assignment. Retains business from secured commercial accounts. Meets and exceeds sales goals defined by Total Sales Profit. Assists local operations management in coaching field personnel on business growth. This position is commission pay eligible.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Increase revenue from new and existing customers:Establish strong relationships with prospective customers through various prospecting and business development techniquesDevelop and execute sales plans to maintain high call activity and increase productivityNetwork with decision-makers in targeted organizations to promote AmeriGas solutionsBuild internal and external client relationships during work hours and special eventsProtect AmeriGas from competitive threats; maintain and share competitive intelligencePrepare and present sales proposals to current and prospective customers
Product and Solution Expertise:
Maintain expert knowledge on products, solutions, and regulatory changesWork with area sales manager and vendors to improve sales tools and techniquesMaintain knowledge of applications and customer solutionsAttend required periodic meetings and training classes
Administrative Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate paperwork based on corporate policy and proceduresReview commission statements to ensure accurate paymentProficiently use CRM tools for new account acquisitionPerform other assigned duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Sales skills to independently prospect territory, discover needs, present solutions, and secure businessAbility to maintain high productivity through careful time managementComplete understanding of propane products and servicesValid driver's license with ability to travel locally for customer/district visits and trade shows
Education and Experience Required:
High school education or equivalent required; college degree preferred3+ years sales experience with demonstrated success and goal attainmentCommercial/industrial sales experience preferred
